Has anyone here set up Open OnDemand in a container before? I seem to find myself in a situation where I’m uninstalling, and reinstalling OnDemand a lot more than the past and more than I expected. I’m under the impression that by the nature of containers - it makes much more sense to go through this process in such an environment since it’s much easier to tear down and build up containers. The issue is I’m not sure exactly how to go about it since I’m not too experienced with them.

Should I proceed the process as normal in a container with just the OS like I would without a container? Or is there a different or more specific procedure I’d follow. Any guidance is appreciated thank you! 🙂

I made that for local development, but you can tweak as you please!

Just want to point out that we have an Open OnDemand specific Discourse instance here: [https://discourse.osc.edu/c/open-ondemand](https://discourse.osc.edu/c/open-ondemand) where it’s good to have discussions like this so the broader OOD community can participate.

Yes thank you! I have posted a couple times to the open on demand discourse. I remembered I haven’t posted much to here so I felt like branching out to utilize my resources more.

Awesome!! I’ll give this a whirl. This was the link to the post I made to the discourse that @Chalker mentioned [https://discourse.osc.edu/t/open-ondemand-in-containers/865](https://discourse.osc.edu/t/open-ondemand-in-containers/865)

Fantastic! If you have questions or any issues, please post them on the issues board so they are stored alongside the code base for (future) others to find. [https://github.com/vsoch/ood-compose/issues](https://github.com/vsoch/ood-compose/issues). I am notified when you post so I’ll be able to respond promptly. Good luck!
