WebMo alternatives

I’m finding it increasingly difficult to manage our WebMo deployment. We have all sorts of little hacks to get it to work with our systems (it doesn’t support Slurm well - we had to add a hack for --time flag through the UI’s constraints field).

So I’m looking for a way out. Has anyone had success with alternative web based programs for WebMo (licensed or free)?

Hi Jeff,

I run chemcompute.org which is a free Science Gateway for computational chemistry and Jupyter notebooks. Our main goal is to make it easy for undergraduates to submit jobs to XSEDE resources and visualize the output. You can email me with any questions: perrim@sonoma.edu

Thanks,
Mark

Hi, thank you for the response and the very long delay! I’ll look into that link.

Hello Jeff,

I’ll also mention my own projects. If you want a software like WebMO, I have created CalcUS, which is open-source. You can get it on Github. It’s fully functional and I use it for my own research. The project is very much alive and more features are being added.

If you want to get rid of the headache of managing a server completely, you can look into CalcUS Cloud. It’s a cloud-hosted instance of CalcUS that requires no installation or setup. You can use it for free, although there is a monthly cap on how much computational time you can use. By subscribing, you can get any amount of computational time that you need.
