Our users find the standard interactive environment (the SAS Display Manager) very difficult to use. It opens as several small, isolated windows, which is a significant downgrade from the modern SAS Studio experience they prefer.
As a result, most users avoid interactive SAS use and instead develop their code locally or in a simple text editor. This workflow is inefficient and hinders interactive development.
We are looking for a better solution for interactive SAS development and execution. I’ve tried the SAS Extension for VS Code, but my understanding is that it requires a running SAS server component, not just the base SAS installation we have.
Question: What solution does your institution provide or suggest to your users for an efficient, modern, and interactive experience when running SAS on your cluster?
